10 years have passed since the beginning of this long adventure called "Sciare con gusto", which has been hosting many Italian and international star chefs – in particular the creator of the successful initiative, Norbert Niederkofler (Restaurant St. Hubertus at Hotel Rosa Alpina, 3 Michelin stars) - since 2009.
The concept is still the same: each one of the 10 gourmet chefs will be assigned to a lodge on the ski runs of Alta Badia. They will create a recipe which will be offered to the skiers throughout the whole winter season. Each chef will represent an edition and will make a recipe following the motto #skitheitalianway. In making their recipes, the chefs will aim at the genuineness of the Italian cuisine and the ingredients, using only highest quality products. Each course will be combined with a southern Tirol wine, selected by an expert sommelier from South Tirol, who will create original and special combinations.
In the last few years, Alta Badia has become the tourist destination par excellence in terms of gastronomy. This has been possible thanks to "Sciare con gusto" – the most delicious winter initiative – which each year in December becomes the protagonists on the slopes of the ski resort in the heart of the Dolomites, UNESCO World Heritage.
Thanks to the culinary initiatives on the slopes, in Alta Badia we celebrate the culinary excellences of our Country and we give greater emphasis to the motto #skitheitalianway. The winter holiday is actually much more than a simple skiing. In Alta Badia we give value to the winning combination of winter sports and food, the strengths of our territory. In this way we want to bring closer skiers and gourmets with the top-level cuisine and the quality wines, by further enhancing the gastronomic offer of our lodges.
