We remember people, places, emotions or moments. Yet in all of our memories there is a special, jealously guarded space for the aromas and flavours of our childhood. In homage to this, Childhood flavours is the slogan of the ninth edition of the now traditional Gourmet Skisafari on Sunday 10 December.
As such, a taste for skiing 2017/18 is characterised by the traditional dishes which were best-loved by our participating gourmet chefs when they were children, each of whom has revisited a traditional recipe for one of the huts in Alta Badia, inspired by memories of the food their parents or grandparents used to cook.
The concept behind the initiative stays the same: 13 gourmet chefs will be paired with a hut on the slopes of Alta Badia and will create a recipe for their hut, which will be offered to skiers throughout the winter season. Each dish will tell a story linked to the childhood and family of the chefs as well as the regional produce and its producers.

In their recipes, the chefs will focus on genuine, locally sourced ingredients, using only the very best quality products. Each dish will be paired with a South Tyrolean wine, carefully selected by an expert sommelier from Alta Badia who will create special and original combinations.
